Mission

DGreenRCO seeks to focus on educational information on the mattress & box spring recycling and diverting them from landfills.

WE PROMOTE

  • ENVIRONMENTAL SUSTAINABILITY

  • ECONOMIC DEVELOPMENT

  • ENVIRONMENTAL RESPONSIBILITY

"THINK GLOBALLY"

"ACT LOCALLY"

(introduced in 1915 by the Scottish planner and conservationist, Patrick Geddes)

  • reduce greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions

  • DGreenMDR implementing a solution at the local level to be adopted in every state, goal to increase USA recycling rate

WHY RECYCLE MATTRESSES?  Up to 95% of the contents of a typical used mattress & box spring (steel, wood, polyurethane foam, fabric & plastic) is recyclable.

Why is our “Mattress Recycling Program” so important?

  • Mattresses are up to 95% recyclable

  • Recycling diverts them from the landfills

  • The materials can be manufactured into new products, non-healthcare

  • Recycled products save natural resources from being extracted from the earth

  • Sustainability makes financial sense, REDUCE, COST AVOIDANCE

  • Sustainability programs reduce your company’s waste output and carbon footprint

  • Saves CO2, GHG, and the environment

  • It’s the right thing to do

WHY DIVERT THE MATTRESS & BOX SPRING FROM ENTERING THE LANDFILLS?

The used mattress and box spring are included in the process of landfilling across the country, which waste is spread across 100's of acres of landfill and dirt is then spread over it. These chemicals from the mattress leaks over time in the groundwater, which goes to our drinking water, & food suppy and maybe the cause of the high level of chlorine doses put in the public drinking water.

Our 3-P's Philosophy

PLANET:  To reduce, recycle, and reuse materials unnecessarily ending up in our landfills.

PEOPLE:  To help disenfranchised men & women gain valuable skills and work experience.

PURPOSE:  To reduce waste and GreenHouse Gases (GHG).  The contents of 10,000 mattresses equates to about 125 tons of steel, 20 tons of wood & 15 tons of foam. Recycling these materials can save 239 tons of Carbon Dioxide (CO2) or the equivalent of planting 373 trees or taking 40 cars off the road for a year.
